Skopje, July 23 (MIA) - A total of 10-12 people have been detained in connection to last night's events in Struga, when a larger group of protestors attacked the local head office of party SDSM, where Defense Minister Vlado Buckovski and SDSM Secretary General Nikola Kjurkciev came for a visit, Interior Ministry Spokesman Goran Pavlovski.
According to Pavlovski, the group of citizens, who expressed their revolt from the Government proposal on the territorial organization of the local self-government before the local of office of SDSM, reached the 2,000 mark, resulting in overtaking appropriate measures for protection of Buckovski and Kjurkciev.
The policemen managed to protect the SDSM officials and help them leave for Skopje, Pavlovski said.
The Struga riots resulted in the injury of 24 policemen, 17 protestors and one "Proxima" member, along with great material damage. ac/ik/15:48
